ABOUT US

Capper Flying Club was established in 1946. The club currently has 1Cessna 182's fully IFR equipped, including ADS-B Out and IN. It is hangered at Van Nuys airport.  Some members have been in the club for over 50 years! The club continues to provide a safe, convenient, and economical means of flying. The club is set up as a non-profit corporation which provides a more organized and easier membership structure. This allows pilots to become members for less money than most clubs and provides for more organized club decision making.  We have 3 active mechanics in our club. The planes are well maintained and we have never had any safety issues with the aircraft. The club has quarterly meetings, as required by the corporate status of the club, to discuss any club matters and direct any actions needed. The club has elections once a year at the January meeting to elect the five board members.

ABOUT US

MEMBERSHIP

CAPPER flying club members get to enjoy a powerful Cessna 182 at the legendary Van Nuys Airport. Each member is a partial owner of the Capper non profit and is entitled the benefits of ownership. Share the cost of ownership with other experienced pilots and benefit from the wealth of knowledge that is shared amongst the club. Take the plane cross country without a minimum rental hours.

Membership dues are split between members and the hourly cost is based on fuel and maintenance costs. Rates for the CAPPER 182 are the lowest around due to having two great mechanics working on keeping maintenance costs low.

Current Rates:

Cessna 182: $132 per hr wet

Membership dues: $120 per month

Club ownership: $2785 buy in (refundable upon sale)

The club tries to maintain a low number of pilots per plane to keep the planes readily available and the schedule open. Scheduling is done online at schedulemaster.com

Members are encouraged to help with maintenance to the degree that their certificate will allow. This gives members the opportunity to learn about their plane and further their aviation knowledge.
